The Institue for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) has updated the guidance on the use of flexibilities and temporary discretions for End-point Assessment.

For PAL clients, this means:

– Temporary discretions that were due to be switched off at the end of February (Retail standards) can now be utilised until midnight on the 31st of March 2022.

There has been no change to the temporary discretions for most Hospitality standards, which can be utilised until midnight on the 30th of June 2022.

The current assessment flexibilities relating to all standards can be utilised until midnight on the 31st of March 2022. After that, 7 of the 10 flexibilities will be retained and 3 will be withdrawn. Please refer to IfATES Flexibility Framework for more details.

Note, apprentices must have started assessment by the cut-off date in order to utilise any flexibilities or temporary discretions being removed. It is not sufficient just to have passed through the gateway.

As usual, please get in touch with us if you have any concerns or to discuss assessment options.

PAL is committed to ensuring that apprentices can complete their apprenticeship safely and with minimum disruption.
