Overview of Service

For training providers, employer-providers and colleges, the quality of training provision is now more important than ever.

A robust Ofsted inspection regime, particularly for newer providers, can result in sanctions that severely impede programme growth.

PAL’s Independent Quality Services team supports providers to identify areas of the programme that might need to be strengthened, and provide valuable insight into how improvements can be made.

This short clip explains some of the things the PAL team can help with.

How can we support you?

Provider Health Checks

A non-judgemental, independent review of all aspects of your programme can identify areas that might need to be strengthened or improved in order to achieve great results.

What people say

We were thrilled to be able to work with the team at PAL to develop our quality cycle. The PAL team shared their own experiences and provided us with valuable insights, which not only helped us to evaluate our effectiveness but also develop our confidence as a team.

Head of Curriculum and Quality Assurance

As a small local provider, we were unsure about using an external consultant to look at our data and compliance procedures. However, PAL’s input was extremely helpful and their advice has saved us a lot of time and money.  It was clear from the outset that the team were very experienced and their approach enabled us to get everybody on board with the changes.

Provider Health Checks

Health checks involve an independent review of all aspects of the training programme undertaken by a highly experienced member of our team, based on Ofsted requirements.

The review will provide honest and non-judgemental feedback on the strengths of the programme and any potential areas of development.

Health checks are not a fast track to ‘Ofsted readiness’; in our experience, there aren’t any shortcuts to a high-quality programme of training. However, an experienced critical eye can provide clarity and direction for improvement.

Independent Observations of Teaching and Learning

Independent observations of delivery and assessment are the key to delivering strong programmes of training, providing a direct impact on individual and organisational performance.

The PAL Independent Quality team will provide experienced practitioners to observe teaching, learning and assessment delivery.

Detailed observation feedback reports with concise, constructive criticism will focus on good practices identified, while indicating areas for potential improvement and options for further professional development.

Quality Assurance Services

Internal Quality Assurance is fundamental to apprenticeship and vocational training programmes. Our team of fully-qualified Quality Assurers can support providers and employers where this function is not available in-house, or needs to be augmented due to the growth of the programme.

PAL can provide Internal Quality Assurance services in the following occupational sectors:

  • Hospitality
  • Retail
  • Adult Care
  • Management
  • Events

Resource Development

Good quality resources are an integral part of an effective programme of training. PAL recognises that resource development can be time consuming and subject to regular changes.

The Independent Quality Services team can produce or develop training and assessment resources according to the brief you provide. This service ensures practitioners can concentrate on delivery, safe in the knowledge that the resources are available for use.

As resources take time to design, produce, develop and test, we require significant lead time for this type of work.
